Ad-hoc – Nonkonform CD (Black Blood) German black metal. This album is a mixture of fast, aggressive and melodic passages. Ad-hoc experiments with different grooves and time-signatures on these tracks, setting them apart from other acts. Ad Hoc was formed in 1996 under the name Mortal Intention, so it is obvious the band has skills working as a unit to create some very strange and bizarre time changes and weird passages. The guitars sometimes delve into Emperor-like melodic note conjuring, and others are more traditional melodic harmonizing. Though none of the parts hang around overlong, quickly jumping to new and exciting azimuths of weirdness.
